Throughout her career Helena Binder has made a priority of educating and mentoring young singers and actors. Since her early days as a Teacher/Artist with the New York State Theatre Institute to her present work as a coach and consultant, she has fostered the growth and careers of many of today’s finest performers.
While teaching acting at the Opera Institute of the School of Music at Boston University and at New England Conservatory she has emphasized the connection between performer and text. She coaches individuals preparing for roles and auditions, and gives master classes in aria and monologue presentation as well as general professional comportment and style.
Helena takes a keen interest in the development of confidence and skill in public speaking, brainstorming and creative thinking, and helps performers and business people feel at ease in professional as well as social settings. As a teacher of Improvisation her expertise has been utilized in design courses at the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth and with Dartmouth faculty and graduate students in the sciences to enhance the presentation of research and ideas.
